We have a term-time, fixed-term position available for a Student Wellbeing School Officer. Duties include but not limited to: - Provide follow up to students and families including problem and conflict resolution measures to support students and families successfully integrate into school life. - Undertake student welfare and wellbeing assessments and develop and implement strategies to improve student welfare including follow up interventions with parents/carers where appropriate. - Assist in early identification of students who are suspected of being at risk of harm. - Collaborate with parents, staff and other professionals to further the wellbeing of individual students through processes such as student support team. - Coordinate or provide relevant ongoing education and personal development opportunities for parents/caregivers including input into organising and supervising parent evenings/guest speakers. - Participate as a member of a multi-disciplinary team within an education setting and in support of the Catholic faith. - Spending informal time with students (e.g. in the playground and classroom and other student activities, lunchtime WELL activities). - Directly supporting school coordinators in all areas of their role, including support with mediation for particular peer groups experiencing relationship issues and social skills. - Running sessions/programs to help build self-esteem and self-care e.g. Seasons for Growth. - Supporting events that bring the community together. - Assisting with retreat and spirituality days across year levels (as negotiated and discussed). - Maintaining links with outside services and resources. - Developing and maintaining an up to date directory of services and resources within the community. - Participating in professional learning programs and projects offered through BCEO and other providers as discussed with the Principal. - Attending weekly Pastoral and WELL meetings. - Overseeing the coordination and implementation of the ‘We Care’ program. - To attend/participate school assemblies presenting on topics of need as identified as by members of the Wellbeing team. - Attend student meetings or hearings as a support person as required by students. - Attend evening and weekend work as required in the role. The role requires a minimum tertiary education of Bachelor Degree in Social Work. As a Catholic secondary college in the Dominican Tradition we are committed to the education of young women.
